Did an [image search](https://www.google.com/search?q=Trimeresurus+Insularis&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj5tK-xzI7VAhXFrD4KHbhGDnwQ_AUICigB&biw=1534&bih=767) on the snake. Based on those results, I’m gonna call this myth PLAUSIBLE.
There are so few naturally occuring bright blue things. Even many blue flowers had to be modified by humans to get that color. Imagine a couple thousand years ago, stumbling across this lil dude while on your morning berry gathering trip…you’d probably thing you met a god or something.
